Day 1
After your breakfast around 8:00 am the guide will pick you up from your guesthouse in Bukit Lawang and the adventure in the jungle of Gunung Leuser National Park begins. For the next 6 or 7 hours you will hike in the rainforest and encounter many orangutans, while your guide will explain to you more about the wildlife, as well as, the flora and fauna, you will be surrounded by in the rainforest.
After lunchtime we will continue trekking and spot different types of animals, such as the Thomas’ Leaf Monkey, White-Handed-Gibbon, Siamang and diverse species of Macaques. You may also see hornbills, peacocks and the monitor lizard. Your guide will share his knowledge about the trees and plants, which are used for traditional Indonesian medical treatment.
In the late afternoon we will look for a place to set up our campsite for the night close to a small river in the deep forest. Once having prepared everything for the night, you can go for a swim, assist in cooking or even learn some skills, such as how to survive in the jungle until falling asleep to the sound of the rainforest and the rushing river.

Day 2
The adventure goes on, as we will see the real wild nature of the tropics, spot the animals and learn more about the life of the orangutans and their behavior. We will spend the following night close to Jambur Batu Atas, a rather secluded site, from where we can take a walk to the waterfall, a perfect place to relax and dip into the cold refreshing water after another day of trekking.

Day 3
On the third day of the excursion after a short hike you will reach the summit of the mountain and admire the breath-taking view, as you venture deeper into the jungle of Gunung Leuser National Park with the beauty of the dense forest and the wild animals. In the afternoon we will set up our tents close to the river of Bohorok, where we can go for another swim, chill out or go fishing. Depending on the weather, we will sit by the bonfire and enjoy the evening while playing games, singing and sharing the skills essential to survive in the jungle, before we will fall asleep in our tents.

Day 4
To complete the adventure we will take a short trek, before we go back to your accommodation in Bukit Lawang via river rafting, passing Bohorok and the dazzling shelving scenery next to the river.
